In the first edition of Alight´s Retirement Perception Index, an in-depth research project undertaken in partnership with the University of Granada, we explore the issue of British employees’ awareness, confidence and interest in their national pension system.

The results provide essential reading for employers operating in the United Kingdom.

• Almost 50% of respondents have high or very high confidence in receiving a pension at retirement.

• 58.2% of respondents showed high or very high interest in their employer offering them professional advice on how to manage their retirement savings.
• 43.5% of respondents believe that their pension will not allow them to maintain a satisfactory standard of living.
• 68.7% of those surveyed expressed high or very high interest in working for employers who offer them additional contributions to a pension plan beyond their standard compensation.
