How Employers Can Empower Healthier Lives in 2025

Share

Today’s workforce is prioritizing wellbeing, as they seek to make improvements to their mind, body, wallet and life. When it comes to their employer-sponsored benefits, however, many do not know the benefits available or how to use them. And in the area of healthcare, the complexity is confounded by important questions regarding which providers and treatment options would serve them best. Without effective guidance, this can lead employees and family members to experience unnecessary care, higher costs and poorer outcomes. That was made abundantly clear in our 2024 Alight International Workforce and Wellbeing Mindset Study, with nearly 60% of employees saying they regretted a healthcare decision in the last year.

Employers have an important opportunity to provide workers with the tools, resources and guidance to help them understand how to access and utilize their healthcare benefits for better outcomes and cost savings. In this short video, Alight CEO Dave Guilmette takes a deeper dive into the healthcare challenges facing employees and the strategies employers can take to transform the experience from frustration to empowerment.
