Alight, Inc. (NYSE: ALIT), a leading cloud-based human capital and technology services provider, has been recognized as one of America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2024 by Newsweek. Achieving a ranking of four and a half out of five stars, this marks Alight's debut appearance on this prestigious list.

"Alight’s recognition as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2024 highlights our continued dedication to fostering a culture of inclusion and equity,” said Xan Daniels, vice president of global inclusion and diversity at Alight. “Our focus on wellbeing and belonging, growing our talent community and supporting diverse perspectives underscores our dedication to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.”

Newsweek partnered with Plant-A Insights Group for the second consecutive year to identify the top large and mid-size companies across the United States that prioritize diversity and inclusion. The selection process involved a thorough analysis of publicly available data, comprehensive interviews with Human Resources professionals, and an anonymous online survey completed by a diverse pool of employees from companies nationwide to gather insights on corporate culture, working environments and additional metrics, resulting in over 1.5 million company reviews.

Alight's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Strategy (DEI) encompasses various initiatives aimed at growing its diverse talent, infusing Alight's culture in the community, and ensuring equitable outcomes for colleagues. These efforts are complemented by the company's focus on fostering a culture of wellbeing and belonging, prioritizing mental health and providing additional resources for work-life balance support.

For instance, in the past two years, Alight has developed its Inclusion and Diversity policy, setting clear expectations, establishing a shared language, and implementing a measurement framework. This policy ensures alignment with Alight's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars. Moreover, in 2023, Alight introduced its inaugural diversity report, offering insights into its diversity status and ongoing initiatives such as workforce demographics and the expansion of inclusion networks and employee resource groups.

For example, recognizing the distinctive challenges presented by a global workforce, Alight launched formal mentorship programs and "Care Circles" to facilitate connections and foster mutual support among employees. Additionally, Alight has continued to grow and inaugurate several colleague-led communities (CLCs) intended to function as employee resource groups, fostering cultural awareness, professional development and networking opportunities among colleagues. These CLCs constitute an integral component of Alight's commitment to driving diversity and inclusion by:

  • Serving as conduits for knowledge exchange and bridging cultural divides.

  • Providing a robust support system for employees, facilitating education, personal growth, and the exchange of ideas.

  • Assisting in recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Enhancing managerial effectiveness, leadership development, succession planning, and communication with colleagues.

In addition to this recognition, Alight has also been named a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® in 2024 by Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine and Xan Daniels has been recognized as a 2024 HR Executive Rising Star for her contributions to Alight, including building out a mentorship program, retaining diverse talent and leading the organization’s transformation to skills-based hiring.
