David Essary serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Alight, where he leads corporate strategy and guides the continued evolution of the Alight Worklife® platform. In this role, David focuses on advancing Alight’s mission to deliver a Benefits Advantage by aligning technology, data, and services to meet the changing needs of employers and their people.
David brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the health and benefits space. Prior to joining Alight, he served as President of Allstate Health & Benefits, where he oversaw a $2.6 billion annual revenue business and led enterprise M&A, product innovation, and digital transformation initiatives. He has also co-founded and led several successful ventures including Accord Systems, Zevo Benefits, Advice2Pay, and Tricerion Group—each focused on modernizing benefits administration and compliance.
David currently serves on the Board of Genesis Systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and completed executive education in Leadership and Board Governance at Harvard Business School. He is also deeply committed to community service, having previously served as Chairman of the Board for the Bobby Dodd Institute and supporting a range of causes related to childhood development and autism.
